We’ve been saying this since 2010, but it bears repeating once again. You can log in to Shangrila by connecting to port 9999 at the following domains:
Some older domains may still work but don’t count on it. If you want to connect reliably to Shangrila, use one of the preferred domains or connect using Shangrila’s IP, which is 184.108.40.206.
Shangrila is back up.
On Saturday, June 23, 2012, the server that hosts Shangrila will be shut down for scheduled maintenance in the data center where the server is located. Shangrila’s servers will be down for several hours Saturday morning, between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The game will be restarted after the server maintenance is complete.
Tomorrow morning, (May 6th), an attempt will be made to return Shangrila back to the MUSHpark hosting pits. A rebuilt Bandermouse is back in service, and has survived all manner of torture in the past few weeks.
Because we have been using different DNS on the temp site, when we switch back, the address will change back as well. This means we’ll be retiring shangrila.tinymux.org, and going back to shangrilamux.com. The port will remain the same, 9999.
There will most likely be a few minutes of downtime as we transfer the database between sites, but it won’t take very long. Should those minutes be unbearable, people can gather on either BrazilMUX (brazilmux.tinymux.org 2860) or Puggy (puggy.mushpark.com 9033)
In the case of any wonkiness, the best place for official status updates is… well, right here.
ps. Sloth says “hi.”
